Description

The ramp can be a hazardous environment for both employees and aircraft. Over the past decade, the Airlines for America (A4A) Ground Safety Committee (GSC) has been gathering and assessing industry-level data related to aircraft ground damage and on-the-job injuries. Over time, a pattern has become evident. Three sources of aircraft ground damage consistently show up as the most common: damages caused by belt loaders, cargo loaders and passenger boarding bridges.

This document is intended to provide users with a set of guidelines for proper investigative and reporting methods as well as recommended practices tailored to address the unique hazards and preventive measures for damages caused by belt loaders, cargo loaders and passenger boarding bridges.
