Airlines for America® (A4A) is pleased to announce the availability of ATA Spec 124 revision 2016.1. This edition comes with a new name – “Standard Reporting Format for Airline Fuel Consortia” – to more accurately reflect its purpose. The document was formerly known as the “Standard Budget Format for Airline Fuel Consortia” or “SBF.”

A4A member airlines recognize the importance of comprehensive reporting and budgeting for airline fuel consortia. Strict adherence to the A4A Spec 124 spreadsheets and invoices allows the creation of a consolidated master standard budget and annual report. This latest edition brings into sharper focus the cost breakouts for direct expenses as we continue to find better ways to compare costs across diverse locations.

Key changes in this edition include:

• Now refers to “standard reporting format”
• Recommends that any additional budget line items desired by the local fuel-system operator and airlines be discussed in Chapter 12 and maintained on a separate Excel worksheet that rolls up to the standard reporting format

1-1. Outstanding Debt, 1-3 Fees and Rates
     • Includes new reporting details

1-4. Outstanding Debt
     • Contains a new summary table to capture subtotals by type of debt

1-5. Storage (Capacity) and Usable Inventory, 1-6. Capital/Special Projects
     • Includes new reporting details

1-8. Fuel System Inventory Accounting
     • Includes new reporting requirements and explicit references to ATA Spec 123

1-9. Fuel Delivery, 1-10 Environment and 1-11 Other
     • Previous catch-all “Other” now broken out into more distinct sections

4-2. Cash Reconciliation
     • This section has been revised to reflect changes to the spreadsheets

4-3. Outstanding Debt
     • This section has been added to capture detailed/itemized debt information
     • A new worksheet/template 4e was added to capture itemization of Outstanding Debt

9-4. Inventory Accounting
     • Includes new reporting details and guidelines for reporting fuel inventory

12. Additional Location-Specific Information
     • This section has been added to allow location-specific information to be detailed

We appreciate the input from our service operators and member airlines which together have resulted in the most comprehensive Spec 124 reporting to date.
